 This illustrated lecture will discuss some of the ways in which Greek myths and legends have been retold in the visual arts of the Western world, from the arcane images beloved of the Renaissance humanists, to the playful eroticism of Baroque and Rococo art, to the radical and satirical works of the nineteenth century.
